Special Counsel began because we discovered that too many claimants were losing time, money, and leverage by approaching the wrong lawyers, the wrong firms, or the wrong forum.
Our team comprises senior lawyers with experience across employment, regulatory, tax, criminal, immigration and commercial disputes. We represent claimants directly in a range of forums, including employment disputes and pre-action commercial and civil disputes; and we work with an extensive network of specialist practitioners and firms for wider disputes that are required to be issued through the senior courts of England & Wales. We also offer assistance in investigations roles where sensitive or independent expertise is required.
Our role is to:

identify the true legal nature of a problem,

determine the correct procedural and strategic route, and

ensure matters are handled by lawyers with the appropriate expertise; either advice and representation by the experienced team directly, or referral to appropriate counsel in our network and beyond.

Special Counsel brings together senior lawyers with deep experience across employment law, discrimination, and strategic advisory work in complex and regulated sectors.
Our lawyers have led and supported matters in industries ranging from financial services, pharmaceuticals and medical cannabis to emerging regulatory environments, advising on disputes, governance, and legal strategy since 2019.
We created Special Counsel after seeing how often claimants lack a clear starting point, forced to make critical decisions without proper structure or early strategic guidance.
Our role is to provide clarity at the outset: assessing the legal issues, risks, and options before matters become costly or misdirected.
We advise realistically, strategically, and with focus - ensuring claims are properly framed, supported, and pursued with intent.
